Fujifilm

Thank you for taking the time to consider my entry as a Fuji X-Photographer.
Since the first release of the Fuji X100 I’ve been a big fan of the cameras.
After occasionaly using a friends X100 I waited to purchase the newest XE model so I could have the portability of the smaller body together with the versatility to swap out lenses.

The Fujifilm X camera has opened up the world for me, making it possible to take professional grade imaging with me in my pocket.
Since purchasing the Fujifilm X-E2 I haven’t shot any personal digital work with a different device than this.
It’s the perfect camera for me, being able to shoot street, travel and on the go portraits every day, everywhere I go.

A couple of months ago, Fujifilm gave me the chance to try out the Fuji X-T2.
Having used the camera for the past couple of weeks the feeling really started to get to me that this camera is on the brink of being able to replace every DSLR on the market.
I walked the streets with it, took it on a helicopter ride over New York City and shot some of my favorite portraits with it.

With the Fujifilm GFX now rolling out, I’m really excited to see what Fujifilm has in store for us and it would a big pleasure to be part of that through the X-photographer program.

Below are a selection of images shot solely on The Fuji X-E2 and the Fuji X-T2.

Fabienne was someone I had never worked with before. I met her on a job. She was the smallest person in the room but had the biggest charisma of all. I wanted to show that charisma and power through these photos. This was one of the first shoots I did with the Fuji X-T2.

New York City gave me the perfect opportunity to put the X-T2 through some good tests.
I took it to the streets of Williamsburg first, to see if it was quick enough to boot up, focus and meter right for the high contrast scenes I love to shoot.

After taking it to the streets I wanted to return home with some really unique shots while putting the X-T2 in an extreme environment.
Booking the helicopter ride between 16:00 and 17:00hr would hopefully bath the city in orange sunset light.
Shooting from the air meant I’d have to shoot on high shutter speeds and high-iso’s to get everything tack sharp while flying at high speeds.

Iceland felt like an undiscovered frontier and trying to capture the minimalistic beauty of the country was a challenge I happily accepted.
During this trip I put the X-E2 through some of the toughest conditions it had been in. I used it in every weather condition the country had to offer. Shooting in rain, cold and unforgiving harsh winds, the XE-2 pulled through like a boss and I returned home with some of my favorite travel pictures so far.

I love traveling the world and getting to know different cultures, but I sometimes have to remind myself that there is a lot of beauty in our own environment too.
I love the city I live in, Rotterdam. But I always found it hard to explain to people what it exactly was that l loved about it so much.
So I decided to always take a camera with me and show it to them through pictures.
